Funny noises
Once upon a time, there was a house of threads.
Within this house of threads, there was a boy of matches.
The boy of matches knew that he must never attempt to open the door, for he could start a fire and burn down his house of threads.
So, instead, the boy of matches relied on the girl of air to tell him of the world outside the house of threads.
She told him of wondrous things; of creatures illogical, of houses impossible, and of all things in a world where a house of threads and boy of matches and girl of air are possible.
The days came when the boy of matches found himself unable to contain his desire to see the outside world.
The girl of air would then ask about his house of threads- were he to attempt to open the door, he could burn his house of threads to the ground; the girl of air certainly couldn't open it.
The boy of matches told the girl of air that he no longer cared about his house of threads. The outside world was much more interesting, and he may find it in himself that he no longer would have wished to return to his boring house of threads anyway.
Thinking about it, he realized that he didn't care about his house of threads even now, as it was merely a house of threads and nothing more. It contained no life, save for himself, and could not be considered much in any other circumstance.
The girl of air told the boy of matches that, if that was how he truly felt, the outside world was his for the taking.
And so the boy of matches opened the door to the house of threads.
And so the house of threads burned to the ground as the boy of matches left.
And so the boy of matches followed the girl of air to see the outside world that he had never known except as a story.
The end.
