this is based on an image by Frank Frazetta called "Swamp Demon". I contacted Frank Frazetta jr. and got permission to display it here, with the disclaimer that all rights to the original are reserved by Frank Frazetta.
I did this freehand in acrylic, using the image from my copy of "ICON: Frank Frazetta" in an attempt to learn some of the master's technique and style. In general I think copying is a great way to learn from other artists, though its extremely important to credit them and if possible contact them (as I was luckily able to do here) to get permission before you display it publicly.
Even though its a copy I'm still proud of of some of the stylistic and technical elements I was able to incorporate, especially in the female figure in the foreground. I had some trouble with the big guy's right leg, the acrylic got all sticky and impossible to work so I abandoned it prematurely (from now on I'll just stick to oil paints).
anyway, I hope someone enjoys this as it did take me quite a while to finish, but at the very least I did learn alot.
