A picture I did for my Blue and White scholars project.
It's very plain, I know--but you should see the version I'm putting in my portfolio.
Admittedly, I rushed the added colors a bit, and her nose is really crappy (Rush job added color dodge = CRAP), but hey! Whatever, man. This will probably be moved to scraps later.

Again, another wonderful piece that works well to your original ideas. She looks quite well in a night scene and you get that impression as well and the sky fits the title well.
