IxR act 31

"Frère ! réveillez-vous!" (Big brother! wake up!)

I didn't want to- so I rolled over and ignored Aria who started shaking me- "Wake up!! Wake up!!"

"Aria- leamme alone.." I replied gently moving her hands off me.

"But daddy has a surprise for you!!!"

I perked my ears up curiously. Since when.. did Aria's father care enough.. I moved and sat up. "No lie?"

Aria shook her head. "No lie. Daddy said to come up and get you-"

I yawned and slid off my bed. I had started sleeping in it lately- and usually in the middle of the night Aria would join me. "Alright.. lets go."

Aria grabbed me by my hand as she grinned and pulled me out of my room, and I- still half asleep followed.

Once we got to the kitchen door Aria stopped and turned around- "Close your eyes! no peeking!!"

I let out a sigh and closed my eyes- covering them with my hands so she knew I wasnt looking.

She grabbed me by the front of the shirt and pulled me into the kitchen. "Okay- you can look now-"

Slowly I opened my eyes, the kitchen was decorated with party decor. There were even presents for me. And on the table was a cake that said "welcome to the family",

Mom and dad and Aria were smiling.

I didn't know what to say- I didn't know what to do. Tears started welling up in my eyes, I couldnt help it- no ones ever done this for me before.

Aria looked at me sadly- "You don't like it big brother?"

I shook my head as I fell to sit on the floor. "No- I love it.." I said sobbing.

She put her small hand on my shoulder. "Then why are you crying?? Don't be sad..."

"I'm not--" I replied. "I'm just-- so... happy."

Mother smiled down at me. "Aria- Why dont you go get the gift you have for him? I'm sure that will make him feel better."

"Okay!!" She replied running out of the kitchen.

I wiped my eyes, I was so embarrassed that I was crying like this. Aria came back in a few moments later and handed me a piece of paper. It was a drawing- Stick figures of all of us, mom and dad on the left, holding my hand then Aria on the right holding my other, across the top in big letters it said 'famille'

"It means family!" Aria said grinning and wrapping her arms around my neck. "We're your family... right big brother??"

I nodded. "Yea... we are.."

After I stopped sobbing I opened my presents- they were new outfits and a couple of toys- miscellaneous things from Aria- thoughtful gifts but nothing too dramatic.

Then we ate cake out in the livingroom. I don't know what it was about that surprise that made me feel so complete... Maybe it was knowing I had a family that loved me rather than a lonely trailer. I looked down at my plate as I set my fork on it, lowering my ears. But there was still something missing..

Insen was missing..

I couldnt be complete without him.

"Whats wrong Ryou?" Mother asked looking a bit worried.

"Oh- nothing... just homesick."

Aria looked confused. "But you ARE home..."

"He means the home before ours sweetie." Her mother tried to explain.

I looked at her. "mom- can I used the phone?"

"Of course."

"Thanks.." I replied sliding off the couch and walking into the hall. I just wanted to hear his voice.. just once. Even if its only for a few moments.

I picked up the reciever and dialed insen's phone number.

No answer...

I lowered my ears. What if he forgot about me...Or has a new boyfriend..I bet I'm easily replaceable.

I let out a sigh and leaned against the wall- thinking about such things made my heart ache. I'm absolutely positive that Insen is the one for me- the one I want to spent my life with. But thats really hard to do when you live hundreds of miles apart.

I longed for my trailer again. I longed for the times when Insen would walk in smiling because I ran into my door in my rush to open it. Or when I'd be sleeping and he'd come in and lay next to me. Or the way he'd kiss me to wake me up for school. If Insen found someone else..

Life wouldn't be worth living....
