Woman and Warrior
Warrior- My lady, why do you cry out thus, as if in some vision of horror?
Woman- Your face is mauled and flayed, my lord.
Warrior- Tis but the sacrifice which we soldiers make in battle. Aye, our entrails may be torn from our corpses by those carrion-birds yonder, but our cause will be worth it. Do you not now see, woman?
Woman- Nay, I fear that I do not see what madness would drive you to lay down your life for the cause of others.
Warrior- Woman, you are so blind! People of true valor find every reason to lay down their lives for the sake of others. Look out yonder, woman, at those women tending their babes so peacefully. Would you not want to fight to keep that peace, to give those babes the chance to do the same as their mothers, to care for their young? Is that not worth dying for? Do you not now see?
Woman- Aye my good sir. I see what drives you to battle. Peace and love do, freedom. Come sir let me tend your wounds. Whilst I do so, please tell me more of what you fight for.
Warrior- Aye, good woman, I will.
