CH. 1 Angel

I woke to the sharp screams of my alarm clock. It read "6:30" which gave me about 30 minutes to get to work. I slid out from underneath the warm comfortable covers of my bed. I walked over to the large window at the other side of the room. I climbed up onto the cushioned sill, which was large enough for me to sit while being comfortable; I could tell it was made for sitting. I unlatched the two glass windows, and as I pushed them open I felt a cool refreshing breeze. It was just another beautiful day in Tokyo.
I hopped down off the window sill and walked over into the bathroom to start to get ready for work. I slipped off my white tang top and poke-a-dot covered boxers, then threw them into the hamper. I started the shower and climbed inside.
I shut off the shower, pushed aside the curtain and grabbed the towel that was hanging on a hook on the wall, and wrapped it around my wet body. I stepped out of the shower and walked out off into my room.
I tried to hurry and find my work uniform which I always seem to lose when I'm in a time of crisis. like when I'm late for work. At this time I had 15 minutes to get to work. After tarring my room apart I found it. My uniform, a burnt orange colored dress just cut a little above my knees. It has three buttons that extends into a fold-over collar. It also was a white apron and a pair of mid-caf high socks with two black shoes.
I threw on my uniform and looked at my clock which read "6:50". I had 10 minutes to get to work. I looked around my room for something to tie up my hair, because I didn't have time to blow dry it. I turned to a lamp at the other side of the room it had a white ribbon tied around it's shade. I ran to grab it, and threw up my hair into a wet pony tail.
I ran down the stairs and into the kitchen. I grabbed my keys off the counter and ran out the door.
As I ran down the street I remembered about the order of coffee beans I promised to pick up before work. So I turned down to the convenient mart, which was a block further then the café were I work..
I pushed open the door to the mart and ran up to the cashier. He was an older man in about his fifties. He had dark brown hair with some slightly noticeable grays. He was a little pudgy mostly in the face.
"Do you have the order of coffee beans for the moon café." I asked, as I tried to catch my breath.
"Yes, you must be miss. Miyataki." he replied with a smile
"Yes." I nodded. "and please hurry, I'm gonna be late!"
"Of course." he replied as he walked into a small door way behind the counter.
Moments later he came out carrying a large sack with "coffee beans" printed on the side. I was hoping it wasn't the order I was there to pick up, but someone else's. I could tell he was struggling to carry it to the counter. He then threw it up onto the counter top.
"Here's your order ma'am...eighty pounds of coffee beans." he exclaimed as he wiped the sweat from his face.
"Are you sure this is the order?"
"Yes ma'am." he replied. "Well..um..do you have a cart or something I can use?" I asked, hoping he did.
"No ma'am, I'm sorry." his smile slowly turned to a frown. "Is there anything else I can get you?"
"No that's all, thank you." I said disappointingly.
"Well have a nice day." he said as he gave me a wave goodbye as if he wanted me to leave, like I was in the way or something.
I wrapped my arms around he huge sac of beans, shut my eyes and embraced for the impact. "Ok." I said to myself. I then used all my strength and lifted the large sack of beans and turned to leave. As I went to take a first step to leave, I fell to my knees.
"Are you ok?" asked the cashier.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I replied, knowing I wasn't ,and definitely wasn't going to be afterwards.
I got back up to my feet and flung the mighty sack of beans with all my strength over my shoulder. I struggled to stay on my feet, but for some reason it was slightly lighter then the first time I lifted it, and was easier to for me to stay a foot. Slowly I walked out of the mart.
I struggled with the sack as I stumbled down the street. I felt so weird I was getting a bunch of stares from people walking pass, but the weight of the beans was just to much that I didn't even care.
I stopped at the corner, only four blocks away from the café, and five minutes. "Maybe I'll make it" I thought to myself. As I took a step off the curb onto the street the sack suddenly got heavier and I feel to the grown head first. I pulled myself up onto all fours. And I heard a loud high pitch screech and I turned my head. It was a car coming straight on. It look as if it was going in slow motion. I couldn't move I was too scared. "Get up and run! MOVE!" I repeated to myself over and over in my mind, but I just couldn't. All I could do was shut my eyes and pray I wasn't going to die. Even though I knew it would be a miracle. Not that many people would live from a head on collision in a car, so why would I when I'm just sitting there ready to be torn apart.
It was quiet, dark. "Am I dead?" suddenly I heard voices. I opened my eyes. I couldn't believe what I saw. The car that was just about to ripe me apart, was stopped inches away from me with the front torn to pieces. People were gathered around in shock. I knew what they were thinking. They were thinking I did it. It's not like it didn't look like I did it either. A car seconds away from killing me, torn to pieces, saving me. If I saw this kind of thing walking down the street I would think the same thing, but there's no way I could have done it I don't posses that kind of ability. "Did someone else do it?" I thought, but that would be impossible. No one has that kind of power. Or do they?
I looked around at the people. I could here their whispers, But not exactly what they were saying. One I was sure of though.
"She just like the them. She should be killed"
I was so scared and nervous, it was hard to hold in the tears. I grabbed the sack of beans and ran. I was so much in shock that the sack that I could barley hold before was as light as a feather, at least that's what I hoped the reason was.
I ran all the way to the café, because all I could do was run. I swung open the door to the
café and threw the sack up onto the counter and just fell to my knees and tried to calm myself down.
"Kirei!"
I could tell by the voice it was Keade. Keade was one of my best friends, she was like a big sister to me. She had short black hair that curves under her chin and bright shinny violet eyes. I heard her foot steps coming closer, and her voice getting louder. She was running tor wards me.
"Kirei are you alright." she said worryingly as she knelt down beside me.
I looked up at her I could see the worry in her face as if it was painted on.
"I'm fine, just tired..those beans are heavier than they look you know. " I said adding a giggle to lead her to think I'm fine, but she knew me better.
"You gave me a scare there." she said as she held out her hand with a smile.
I was shocked I was waiting for a "Kirei you liar, now tell me what's wrong!!"
But she just let it go. There was no way she fell for it. Maybe she felt bad, knowing something was wrong, but whatever it was it got me out of a lecture. I took her hand and got to my feet.
"Miyataki!!!"
A sudden twitch came to my eye. I knew it. It was Mrs. Kimina. My boss, She had dark brown hair that lay on her shoulders, and pail green eyes. She was also very masculine. Her voice is the only voice that would make my eye twitch, and so I got ready for the "you're late again, I can NOT believe it you're fired!!" I turned to her with a hesitant smile.
"Yes Mrs. Kimina?" I asked.
"Hmm..." she looked at the clock, and back at me "good job getting here on time, try to make it more often." she said with a smirk and she just walked back into the kitchen.
I couldn't believe it. 1.] I made it on time. 2.] I didn't get lectured or yelled at by the two people I can't go a day without getting yelled at or a lecture from. 3.] I survived a feudal car crash. "It must be my lucky day" I thought to myself. But then I remembered how I survived the car crash and I wasn't so sure about my luck.
All through work that was all I could think about. The car crash. What happened? What did the old woman mean by "them?". I was so confused I just wanted to go home and sleep it off but then I thought how can I go outside what if someone recognizes me from earlier. Would I have to hide? What if I'm killed? I thought about everything that could possibly happen.
Finally work was over. I grabbed my stuff and headed for the door. I wanted to get home as soon as possible.
"Kirei!"
I turned around. It was keade.
"Yeah." I replied.
"If you want I'm getting off in a couple minutes, I could walk you home."
"Uh, no thanks I'm fine. Maybe tomorrow. " I answered with a smile.
"Yeah, sure."
"Kay, bye talk to you later" I responded as I waved and walked out the door.
I just didn't want her to come with me just incase something happened because of earlier
and I just wanted some time alone to think.
On the way home I passed a small little convenient. I decided to go look inside. Besides I
was hungry. I browsed threw the drinks and candy isles. Then I heard the ding of the bell which signals that someone has come in the store. I peeked over the isle. I saw a young woman probably the same age as me. She wasn't short but not tall. She had long brown hair that was tied up in a pony tail that swayed in every step she took. Her pale skin seemed to shimmer in the light of the store. She had glowing red eyes very similar to mine except more narrow and small; beautiful. Her outfit was the opposite though. She wore a small black tang top with some wear-and-tare holes on the bottom, and it seemed like it had some slightly faded dirt stains on it. She also had on a pair of faded blue jeans that were a little too small for her, even though she had a very petite body, and with her she carried a sleek guitar and also was fallowed by a small very adorable energetic fox. She started to walk over in my direction. I looked around real fast and grabbed a cupcake and ninja my way to the other idle. I peeked threw the shelves. I saw her look around at the snacks and I realized she had no money, she was poor. I felt bad. I noticed the cashier coming in her direction jumped out in front of him.
"Excuse me miss." he said trying to pass me.
"Um..I'm sorry but can you direct me to the liquid section of this nice little convenient?" I said with an innocent smile, I was trying to act as if I had no Idea of what I was doing, like a little girl but with a pinch of sexy buried in there some where.
"Uh...yes..yes of course." he said hesitantly. "It's right over here." he said as he pointed over to were the drinks were located.
"Oh..I'm sorry can you take me to it." I said as I pouted.
"Okay.." I could tell he was nervous, and he was blushing.
He took me over to the drink section and I turned to see if she had left yet. She hadn't. I though maybe she didn't notice I was trying to help, so she didn't get caught trying to take something. She looked in my direction and I gave her a look to help her understand what I was doing. She gave me a nod, so then I had to think of something to do to distract him a little longer.
"Excuse me miss, is that all." asked the cashier.
"No!..I mean no. would you help me pick one?"
"What?" I could tell he was getting aggravated.
"Please?"
"Uh..ok..I recommend the Pepsi it's one of my favorites."
"Well..what about your all time favorite?" I started to get closer to him to make sure he was still totally pin-pointed on me.
"Um..."he hesitated "the..the Ramune water." he said as he blushed.
I looked over to the idle and she was gone. I did a quick scan of the, store she wasn't there.
"Okay. Thanks for your help" I said as I walked away and to mess with him even more I didn't even look back. I ran out to the corner and she was gone..

Anthropophagi Says:

It's nice and enjoyable but it's extremely wordy.

For example: "I walked over to the large window at the other side of the room. I climbed up onto the cushioned sill, which was large enough for me to sit while being comfortable; I could tell it was made for sitting. I unlatched the two glass windows, and as I pushed them open I felt a cool refreshing breeze. It was just another beautiful day in Tokyo."

Would sound better as: "I walked across the room and sat upon my beige window seat. Unlatching the glass window and softly pushing them open, a refreshing breeze consumed me. It was another beautiful day in Tokyo."

80 pounds?! That's crazyness! I couldn't even carry that for one block xD!!
