Shadowed Stars

The shadows seemed to deepen as they crept across the floor. A chill ran down Sarah's spine. She glanced nervously around her room, yet saw nothing but the darkness. A slight shuffle came from behind her, somewhere deep within her walk-in closet.
Sarah froze, Could it be?, millions of horrific possibilities ran through her panicky mind.
"eeerrrow.." Naroke, her cat, called as she ran from the closet.
"Oh, Naroke, You silly girl!" Sarah laughed, calming down and brushing off the chill of just moments before.
"Little girl..." Came a soft, husky whisper, so close to her ear she could only star, wide-eyed at the air before her, her smile fading.
"Come, play with me..." He whispered again, his breath now thick on the back of her neck. Sarah tried to regain some self control, attempting to turn around; heart racing, as she caught a glimpse of the beastly man behind her. Bright, crisp fangs gleamed from his devilish smile and he winked playfully at her as she could only stare like a deer caught in a pair of menacing headlights.
"Oh, won't you come and play with me?" He asked again, a little louder, grinning all the while.
"I-I-I..." Sarah stammered, almost silently, fear catching in her throat.
"Don't worry, Little One, I won't play too rough." He smiled, shaking his head slightly and crossing his arms. Sarah was mesmerized, staring up into his brilliant blue eyes; she nearly lost all sense of reality.
"W-who are you?" She asked quietly, crossing her own arms in an attempt to calm herself.
"You may call me Saris, Little One," He replied with a nod of his head, "and what may I call you?"
"S-Sarah, but you seem to like Little One," Sarah replied, glancing at her bedroom door and windows.
"I like to title my friends." He replied, his voice deep with charm.
"You...You're a vampire..." Sarah stated quietly, almost more to herself.
"Why yes; yes, I am." He stated, proudly tonguing a pearly point.
"Why are you here?" Sarah asked, stepping back slightly and bumping into her bed.
"Why to play, of course." He stepped forward with her movement, leaning slightly towards her, his jet black, shaggy hair falling upon his ashen skin, making his features all the more menacing.
"To play?" She leaned back against the bed some more, a worried look coming over her features.
"Yes, but I promise not to hurt you...unless, of course, you want me to." He was whispering again, moving closer still, his arms no longer crossed, but loose to his sides. Sarah uncrossed her arms as well, and sat on the edge of her bed, her palms resting upon her satin down comforter.
"What are we to play?" She asked as her heart began to beat faster still, the chilled air around her giving her goose bumps.
"Whatever I want," He replied as he reached up and stroked Sarah's hair lightly. He then stepped forward again and spread his legs just to where her knees were between his. "because I say so." She stared wide-eyed at him again, then panicked and tried to knee him in the crotch, but he caught her and pushed her down onto her bed. His hands tight around her wrists, his knees and shins on hers, pinning her almost helplessly. She tried to struggle for a moment more, but he was just too strong.
"I said I wouldn't hurt you, you'll have to trust me, Little One." He was still smiling darkly.
"Why?" Was all she could get out as she was once again choked with fear.
"Because I want you." He whispered into her ear and then kissed her neck lightly. He got off of her then, sitting on his knees between her legs. "Can you trust me? Fear is pointless." She lay there a moment and then sat up, rubbing her right wrist.
"Why should I trust you? You're only here for what little fun you can get out of my torture."
"Awww, come now, Little One, I never said that."
"Your actions have said enough..." She replied quietly, trying to focus her Gift on his aura.
"I stick to my word, Love, I stick to my word." His grin was obnoxious.
"Like it means anything? Already you remind me of every other guy I know. Fake, selfish, arrogantly obnoxious..." I wonder if my empathy would work on him...She thought as she tried to come up with a plan, and then almost as quickly gave up.
"Poor Little One, too many disappointments..." He leaned forward again, with his hands on the pillows behind her. "I've been watching you for some time, and I like what I've seen. I wont hurt you, because I like you. You are different, no?"
