SO LIEK LOL I DREW HIM 2DAY AN WAS ALL OMG LIEK I WUNDR IF I COOD UPLOAD ET AS A HUNDRED THING CHALLENGE? SO LIEK LAWL IT FIT HIM.

Seriously, Kudos to for pointing out this'd fit the "gray" part of the challenge. oo`... yeah.

:3 This is probably anatomically incorrect on so many levels it'd make anyone's head expload. So yeah, no need to point out the obvious folks! I just wanted to try something new for Ian, make him more to the effect had in mind when he thought him into being. He's still pretty cute. Just more, uh, beasty. :3

I placed it as mixed medium because, while this IS a pencil sketch, I actually used a MARKER for the eye. oo`
YES. OMG. HAWK USED A MARKER.
Mainly because I couldn't find my watercolors. x__x ah well, it turned out great! :3 So enjoy folks, #19!

Ianus is (c) to
Image is (c) to me. :3

EDIT 2/22/07:

Lawl gray.

Anyway, real nice job on those legs. Digigrade things make me very happy.

Cat Megex Says:

Hm...not bad, actually...though I admit I'm no expert on digitigrade anatomy, I can't really see anything obviously wrong with this.

The Crash Cadet Says:

Hee. You're so lazy. Whatever works for you, I guess.

Riot13O Says:

I would recommend looking at pictures of dog skeletons, or even possibly cat skeletons. What also helped me when I was drawing those feet in animal anatomy is to draw the legs like slightly-bent human legs except when you hit the ankles. In reality, a dog's "foot" is only his toes. Just imagine it like a human walking on their tippy-toes, except for balancing purposes elongate the toes and especially the sole of the foot.

Interestingly enough, if you think of digigrade animals as walking on their toes, unguligrade (however you spell that) animals technically walk on their... toenails.

The Love is Warrior Says:

The composite anatomy stuff going on here is cool! I'd have to agree with the above comments: the digitigrade thing is cool. The only problem I really see with the pose is that it feels to me like it's somewhere between an action pose and a standing pose, which kind of makes the figure seem like it's tipping over. A lot of people say that you want the figure to be unbalanced in a full-blown action pose, but I feel like this one would need to be pushed a little farther towards a diagonal to get that kind of dynamism. Overall good job, though!

zelink14 Says:

Okay, my turn. First off, I like the drawing. I notice you doing a few things that I used to do. And even now this is something I do all the time: the humerus is too short. When an arm is bent the wrist comes to about the shoulder, so the two segments of the arm are *about* even. Also, try not to draw the eye from a front-view when the head is at a profile. Looking at reference of human profiles will help you think about how the eye "sinks into" the head. Think more of a forward-facing triangle shape (with a curved surface) than an almond shape when drawing a profile.

Also, with claws, remember to set them into the fur of the toes rather than setting them on top. It'll add a whole lot of 3-dimentionality to the feet. :) Anyway, you're on the right track. Studying the anatomy of humans and animals will open up so many doors for you. Keep it up. :)

Luminance Says:

I am doing my part of the critique community! Unfortunately, I know noooothing about animals. >_> Yep, four legs, a head, and a tail. Looks good to me.

I would give this a background, I think, though! I'd like to see where this guy lives or what he's doing, that sort of thing. :3 It'd really benefit from some lighting as well! Oh, and a real preview!! I never click on stuff where I can't see what it looks like prior to clicking.

Mechpilot Says:

I really like the dynamic pose you are going with. it explains alot about how the charcter works. A good way to show how he moves is to do some animal studies like a few people above mentioned. The character could also benifit from some kind of lighting. However I really like the idea behind him and with a few tweaks here and there you'll have some more awesomeness to boot.

Nymbrixion Says:

This is a very nice pic :)

the colors are great on him but you need more value, you could add more darker greys to show of depth and musculature on him (try finding refs of canine musculature it it helps) and a background could be nice too

I really like the energy you put in this pic
