Hiatus, schmiatus. I'm bored.
Life Drawing final, whee. I was told that I try too hard.
Anyhow, vine and charcoal pencil on a huge (about 32x40") piece of Arches BFK paper, done in about 5 hours or so. A photo reference was used for the lighting, while the face was drawn while looking in a mirror.
The background is derived from stock from a Deviant stock account, with heavy modifications (for my own sanity).
How scary are those eyes. I guess I cannot escape my desire for humans to have big, expressive eyes.
Choose your own adventure: the choices I faced in deciding where I want to go with my work. There's a bright, open path in the outdoors, and a dark, unknown hall on the inside. I guess I am supposed to pick one.
I am kind of amused at how that tree trunk looks vaguely like a dinosaur's neck, decorated with leaves.

The tree trunk reminds me of Tropius, lol, from Pokemon. I love the expression in the eyes. They do look a little alien, but still, rather cool.
Oh my, those eyes are bi--No, wait. The eyes themselves are actually not too huge. They just look it because of how little, proportionally, that they're covered with eyelid. And that maybe, conversely, the nose and mouth are comparatively small. They're an extremely well-rendered nose and mouth, just a trifle small on the face.
Hot damn, but all of that is smooth. And in charcoal, no less. I'm impressed. You always do nice shading. There's some real depth coming through. ^^
