Chapter Eight
Lena's Curse
"Lena,what did that Keoko woman mean when she said that you had a curse on you?"asked Haru,while looking for a hotel that they could stay at.
"Ummm....."started Lena,"It's not that important,is it?"
"It is."said Haru."At least to me it is."
"Should I leave you two alone?"asked Nick.
"Huh?Oh no you don't have to,Nick."said Lena,looks ahead."Hey there's a hotel right there."
Lena starts running towards the hotel with Nick and Haru close behind.

Lena reaches the hotel still breathing fine while Nick and Haru were out of breathe.
"Oh come on guys.It wasn't that long a run."said Lena,stretching.
"Speak for yourself.That was three blocks we just ran."complained Haru.
"Really?It didn't seem like it to me."said Lena.
"That just means that you're in better shape in better shape then us,"said Nick.
"Yeah,what he said,"said Haru,pointing at Nick.
"Yeah,I know,"said Lena,grinning.
Lena,Nick,and Haru walk into the inn to get a room.Nick and Haru go to a waitting room while Lena goes to the clerk to get their room.
"So what do you think of my sister?"Nick asked Haru.
"I think that's a little private,don't you?"said Haru.
"Come on.You can tell me."
"Promise you won't tell her???"
"Hai."
"What???"
"Hai is yes in Japanese."
"Oh okay."
"So......"
"What?"
"What do you think of my sister?"said Nick,sounding a little angry.
"Oh...well she is very strong and brave...."
"And.......?"
"She's kind though she can have a bad atitude at times and I guess I've....."
"...fallen for her???"
"Hai..."
"That's great!"said Nick,a little excited.
"Why is that?"asked Haru,looking very confused.
"Want to know a secret?"
"First answer my question."
"I need to know the answer to my question before I answer yours,"smirked Nick.
"Fine,yes I want to know the secret."
"Okay.Just don't to Lena I told you this."
"Okay..."
Nick clears his throat then whispers to Haru,"Lena loves you."
"Really?!?!"exclaimed Haru loudly.
Nick just nods at him then sees that Lena is heading their way.Lena gets to them,holds the key in the air in their faces,and says,"We have room 208."
"Cool,"said Haru.
"Let's go,"said Nick,grabbing the key and running upstairs to their room,followed by Haru and Lena.
Nick puts the key into the lock,turns it until it unlocks,and runs in.Lena starts to giggle as Nick jumps on one of the beds.Haru walks into the room,goes to the other bed,and sits down on it.Lena goes to the third bed and lays down on it.
"This is great!"said Nick,still jumping on the bed.
"You seem to have a lot of energy,Nick,"said Lena,smiling at her younger brother.
"Yeah he does,"said Haru.
"Well good night,"said Lena,as she covered herself up in the covers and fell asleep.
"Good night,Lena,"said Nick and Haru.Nick stops jumping on the bed and sits down on it.Haru looks at Nick and asks,"Could you tell me about the curse???"
"I could,but I don't want to..."said Nick.
"Please,Nick."
"No..."
"I'll give you twenty-five dollars if you do."
"Add twenty-five more dollars to that and you've got a deal,"said Nick,now looking at Haru.
"'Kay,"said Haru,taking out his wallet and taking fifty dollars out of it.
Nick gets off of his bed and walks over to Haru,"So when do I get my money?"
"After you tell me about the curse."
"Okay..."said Nick,letting out a sigh,"Well basicly Lena can't say 'I love you' to you..."
"Why can't she?"
"Because if she does she'll turn to dust."
"Really??Why is that??"
"We don't really know.Our grandmother just told us that our great great grandfather had fallen in love with the princess of Japan and this woman,that was jealious of the princess,put the curse on our family."
"Oh okay."
"Does it make sence to you?"
"Yeah,a little."
"Okay,"yawned Nick.
"You can go to sleep now,"said Haru,trying to make him forget about the fifty dollars.
"Okay,...Hold on!"said Nick,now glaring at Haru,"Where's my fifty dollars?!?!"
"Oh man,I was hoping you'd forget,"complained Haru,handing over the money.Nick snatches it away and counts it to make sure it's all there.After he counts if,Nick puts the money into his pocket,walks over to his bed,lays down on it,and falls asleep.Haru lays down on his bed and falls asleep soon after.
