okay... he's not really coin operated.. but he has to be wound up with a key every so often..
anyway.. these are some new characters that I came up with a long time ago.. funny story.. I was really drunk and passing out in this guys car.. and a song came on the cd player.. it made me picture the loneliest girl in the world.. a few years later.. I heard the song again.. it was "coin operated boy" by Dresden dolls..
the girl is Queh.. no one knows where she's from or.. what she is.. but she can make dolls and bring them to life.. the one thing that she made that's always with her is her boyfriend.. she named him Paper.. cuz he started out as a paper doll.. he's perfect.. he says the right thing.. knows what she's thinking.. and knows how to comfort her.. he's the perfect boyfriend for her... but.. he's not real.. he's just a ball joint doll... and he knows this.. he needs her to wind him up and fix his clothes.. she just needs him cuz she's all alone.... WOW this is very emo of me.. I'm rambling
Paper's design was based off of some dolls I saw at a ball joint doll party......... those things are super freaking scary... thier eyes pop out..

Cool story and idea. Reminds me of Suiseiseki (desu), not that I even know what the show is about. Just the whole doll thing. But yeah, it's sweet... and creepy.. cuz he's missing an eye.

Dresden Dolls are pretty cool. I've only heard a few songs by them, the weirdest one is "Orange Man" about some little girl getting harrassed by an old man.
I like how you mingled your ideas with the music's. You put your own spin into it other than having the song's lyrics really effect your drawing, like how some people make something out of the lyrics word from word.
