Okay, this one I worked REALLY hard on to get all the shading right.

And, so you all know, I DO have a reference for all this. No, I don't trace it (and I frown upon those who trace and call it their artwork)...it's all my own work. I just use the designs, and draw them myself. I'm not good enough to do it on my own...I'm still just a teen (in middle school)!

WOw,you worked hard for something great, i it!!

What was your reference? The style looks like this dragon-drawing book I have. *Grabs it and reads the title.* 'Dragon Art How To Draw Fantastic Dragons and Fantasy Creatures' by J "NeonDragon" Peffer. The face is in the same drawing style, and the arms and wings are similar, too. It's good.

From Neondragon's book aye? You did a good job, although I do (in the kindest way I can possibly think of) suggest that you either put a link to her site, OR begin to do your own artwork. This isn't a slap in your face! I'm trying to be really nice. It's just that tutorials aren't taken kindly by most, even if you tried really hard on it. Best of luck, and in the future, try shrinking down the pics for better viewing.

Oh, I found it. Page 50- Dragon Wings and Flight- Connection Points. So now that I can compare... I think that you should watch how things get scrunched when you run out of paper space. If you notice, your wing is kind've short. Don't be afraid to draw off the page- art teachers actually like it when your drawing overflows a bit. If you had wanted to be able to see the tip of the wing, you could have taped on another sheet of paper. Good immitation, though. Very accurate, especially since I could recognize it exactly.

nicely done

WhiteFoxDK Says:

You seriously need to put a link to neondragon's site or at least ask her if this is ok, she has both a Deviantart account and a Sheezyart account under the same names: neondragon

It looks nice and all, but it's not your own work, its not your character or anything. All you did was try to draw the same exact picture, and for that you need to put credit to the original artist.

Just a warning, it does violate rules if there's no credit.

Wow, this is awesome! I think people who do work without references are freaky (not in a bad waY!) I still use references and I could probably tell where you got this one. I'm in middle school, too (and also still learning)!
