Christmas Gift for Mochibuni as part of the Sailor Moon Club Secret Santa.

Before anything else, I'd like to say this is my bestest work so far *yahoooo* and a many first for me.

MY FIRSTS:

1. To draw Hotaru / Sailor Saturn.

2. To draw and color an animal in cg = and yeah I knoww soo if there's one thing I want to improve on this is coloring furry animals

3. The eyes took a different rendering compared to my old works (which mostly are not submitted here). But I like this style of coloring the eyes, though, it took me a good 2 hours in making it look like that.

4. To make a detailed background, although a christmas bow would do great on the left wall, but at the point when I am done I've almost gone to color blind

5. To make snow reflection on glass!! Oogg.. cuz there's no snow here so no references just my imagination.

6. To use pattern overlays, on the gift box; and textures on the table and window pane.

7. To use a splatty wet look shading or whatever it is called. It's a more complicated kind of coloring I used compared to the old arts I did.


This thing took me 109.5 hours in the making!! 109.5 a lot of timeouts and distractions

Lineart sketch = 5 hours (Can't make the hands right)
Lineart Tracing = 3 hours
Flats = 1.5 hours
Details etc etc = 100.5 hours

I dont think I'll ever want to make another one that will take this loong, not for now though. But yeah I am soo liking the way I colored this. I'm in love with myself now because of this hahah

No references on whatsoever in drawing and coloring - except on the hands where I took a pic of mine for reference. I'm sooo bad with drawing arms and hands

And if there are bad comments I'd like them too. These criticisms helps me improve on my art so I will know my weaknesses and strong areas. So the next time I make art I can improve.
