Eternal Fires: Chapter three
Chapter Three
"Did you have to sneak up on him and attack him from behind." A females voice echoed through the darkness. A males voice followed the females
"What choice did I have, he was sneaking up on us. Maybe he had planned on attacking us. Maybe he was going to rape you." To Kanetsu, what the man said seemed like something he had rehearsed, but Kanetsu was still groggy and his head pained him deeply. He tried to move his body, but found that he was bound by rope. They were busy talking about their situation, he'd be able to escape easily. Kanetsu almost had his hands free when he heard footsteps getting closer to him. He had no choice, he'd have to make his escape, he'd have to use his powers. For six years, he never used his powers freely and now it was habit. He as about to completely free himself when he stopped
"I'm just saying, maybe he's like us. Maybe he's heading to the same place as us. He could help us find her." said the female
"You may be right, but we don't have the time to wait until he awakes. We must leave now, or it might be too late for her."
"What are you saying? That she is in more danger than we thought." Said the female with urgency
"I...uh... I don't know, I uh mean we don't know what they exactly might do in there." said the male nervously
Kanetsu decided to sit up at this point
"Ugh, my head....where am I?"
"Oi, you're awake now. How do you feel?" Said the female
"I've been....."
"Who are you and why are you here, what do you want with us?" Said the man angrily
"Don't be so rude to him."
"It's okay, it was my fault, I came up behind you. I was just looking for warmth and food. I'm here because I'm looking for someone dear to me. They took her away, and I couldn't sit by and let it happen. My name is....my name is Heat." Kanetsu lied to these people, he couldn't risk letting anyone know who he really was.
"My name is Lilith and this is Darius." She gestured to the man now standing next to her.
"I don't care, we need to move on now."
"You're right Darius, but you don't need to be rude. Anyway, you seem to be heading to the same area as us, why don't you come with us?" Lilith asked.
Kanetsu thought for a minute then replied "Sure, maybe I'll finally find her this time. Thank you both for letting me go with you."
"I don't think this is a good idea, but whatever, this cave exits out this other end. C'mon lets go"
