Attention: Since I'm going away for two weeks starting this Sunday, I'm terribly sorry if I don't answer your comments until after I get back. Really sorry about that.
Sadly this is not my best work, but unfortunately I had to settle for this result. I ran out of good paper, so I used pastel paper for this piece. The texture was too rough and I couldn't really get more detailed than this.
Believe it or not, this is the first real piece I've ever created for my parents. I'll have to do another one,.. a better one sometime in the future. This is a portrait of their little Maltese dog named "Bobby". He's a cute little furball. I love him, just wish he didn't bark so darn much sometimes.

Awww, I don't think the texture is bad for it at all. In some ways, it reminds me of some work I've seen on deviantART that I really liked (robertsloan2.deviantart.com). The guy uses a lot of textured paper and it works great.
