The Sonnet of Ben

Here I am; before, alone,
Sitting with another of my kind.
Love, before, I have never shown,
But I can't keep her off my mind.
She seems a little strange, I will admit,
Coornna's not an everyday name.
But there's just something about it;
She sticks in my thoughts, in every frame.
Throughout my life, revenge I did seek,
For vengeance on thoughts that drive me mad.
However, this young woman, so meek,
Makes me think that there's peace to be had.
I forgot to mention: my name is Ben.
And I think this is love that I'm in.

This is a sonnet about Ben's feelings for Coorinna for a school assignment. I really liked how it came out, so I may have one of my friends on DA (shani-hyena) to make a drawing out of it. Anyways, ben and Coorinna are both Thylacine, presumably the last ones. At first, ben keeps his cold attitude he developed through years of isolation, but, over time, those barriers begin to break down, and he begins to feel true love for the first time.
