This is my final project for my Intaglio course. The assignment was to be "ambitious", and indeed I was! I usually work pretty small, this print is about 11x18, not including the border on th actual print. Instead of having an edition, I decided to make this one have a series of Monoprints (5) as part of the edition. This is the print before I've done anything to it. One has glow in the dark features, One is hand colored, one has colored printing, one has Chine Colle, and the last has beedwork done to it. Whew!

For those of you who don't know what intaglio is-basically, its etching into a copper plate, then using acid to let it "bite" deeper into the plate. I used mostly hardground and aquatint for this one.

Anyway, inspired by Apoptygma Berzerk's "Unicorn". A lot different from my original thoughts, that's for sure.

You hold the candle I once lit
you shine your light when you forgive, I cry
You run your fingers through my hair,
and tell me it's worth while.
Its all Worth while
Even when I hate myself
Even when I feel your pain when you cry
Even when my heart is cold
you assure me its worth while
its all worth while

You see, see what can't be seen
You repair the damage done to me.

Very nice...the expression and the poem together both have such warmth.
