I have good news, and medium news!
The good news: I've got another song for you guys to listen to! =D
The medium news: It's a cover slash remix! I didn't originally compose it!

To be more specific, this is a cover slash remix of the Float Castle theme from the video game Yoshi's Safari, a game which I'm sure very few of you have heard of. I wouldn't know if the game is any good, but the soundtrack is EXCELLENT, and the Float Castle theme is easily my favorite song in that soundtrack. Whoever originally composed it is truly a musical genius. Sadly, we may never know whether it was Yoshiki Nishimura, Miyuki Kamimura, or Yasushi Tokunaga, as, according to SNESMusic.org, all three of them contributed to the Yoshi's Safari soundtrack. For all I know, maybe all three of them made this song together. In any case, I hope you enjoy my version of this awesome video game tune (and if you've actually heard it before, then kudos!). :)

original song © Nintendo 1993

EDIT: This is a dark day for SheezyArt indeed. This song is on the front page. . . WITHOUT A SINGLE "YES" OR "NO". Is there nothing anybody likes today? :)

EDIT2: Okay, now not only is this song a Masterpiece with no opinions, BUT the other current Masterpiece has a negative score! Now I feel honored to be the only 0 amongst negatives. :)

EDIT3: Now I have some Yeses. Yay! But there still aren't any other positive-scored Masterpieces to accompany me on the Main Page! WAH! :(

EDIT4: And now this song has a negative score. Oh, well, being the only positive-scored Music Masterpiece was great while it lasted. I'm not too disappointed in myself. I'm more disappointed by the abysmal quality of everyone else's work. I'd so click Yes on something if I thought something was a true masterpiece! :)

Simply magical, since floating castles have to be magical, right?

It's odd. Now that I hear it again, it seems like an instrument in the background delays enough that it seems out of tune. However, it starts to blend in by the second repeat. Trivial things.

Phantom Samurai Says:

wow, this is really cool that you shared this with us. I never played that game, but I can see why you liked this track enough to mix this. thanks, dude

UncleMeat Says:

Really awesome. Tell me, how's the original sound? It seems it might have the same sound as Mario Kart for some odd reason. x.x;

Travisuped Says:

I remember playing the game. (If I recall correctly, it was the one Yoshi game you could use the Superscope with... I just can't remember the music from it at all )

This sounds rather great, that change at the 30sec mark is great, and there's nothing about the sounds that sounds out of place. On the other hand, after you've let it loop a few times, you realize there's not much else to listen to. Variations on it could remedy that a bit.

Overall, it's rather great.

Kulor Says:

Alright, obscure remixes! I honestly can't remember the original, though I'm pretty sure I've gotten that far before. The only thing I don't like is your snare sample, it's too low and sticks out awkwardly on my sound setup. Also, as previously mentioned, some simple instrument changes could really make it worth listening to more than one loop around. Suh-wheatness, though, I like.

Kulor Says:

Now that you mention it, I suppose it is the hihat, it's bizarre though because there's this really low, tom-like sound that really sticks out on every open note, and it wouldn't be so bad if it didn't go right through the subwoofer. I'm not sure, it doesn't really sound like noise to me, it sounds like either something within the hihat sample itself, or a tom part that you put in there...but that begs the question, did you put in a tom (or any part, for that matter) that clones the open hihat?
By the by, since you're doing composing and whatnot, that's something I can't suggest enough; if not a fairly high-end sound setup (mine's one of those 4-speaker Logitech ones), then at least something with a subwoofer of some sort. Mine are old, but they're powerful, and that's what counts...I'm assuming yours is a standard 2-speaker setup from what you said, anyway.

I roflmao at the edits you made. That is HILARIOUS, cuz the same thing happened to me once. xD;

On topic, however. Sadly, I don't remember this song from any Yoshi game... Which is weird, because I have played every single game with Yoshi in it. I LOVE YOSHI. So it's a bit odd to find one I don't recognize. Regardless, your remix is neither bad, nor outstanding. It's pretty entertaining. It never really gooooooes anywhere. Not your fault though, I guess that's just the original song. xD;

And I noticed the guy up there commenting about a tom. I have a 5.1 surround setup, and I hear the tom as well, through my sub. However, I don't think it is bad, or annoying. It just seems to be another layer of rhythmic percussion, on my end. Not disturbing at all. I wouldn't have even paid attention to it, if it hadn't been mentioned in a post. :]
