Wow. I haven't done any art in a while.

This is a piece I did for Sirenz art contest on GaiaOnline. I heard about her contest over a month before the deadline, and I had so many different drawings at first until I settled on this idea. I wanted to do something "oriental" and got inspiration for a pose from a short comic in my Robot vol. 1 colored manga book.

Anyway, there were SO many other things I had to do (school stuff) that I had to rush to finish this. WIP deadline was Dec. 1st, and the final deadline was today, 12:00AM CST. So thankfully I got it in.

Well...I need more practice, because I still really suck at coloring.

I watermarked it at the bottom left. For Sirenz' character, and my username on Gaia. I added a small initial for my real name close to her kimono sleeve.

Constructive comment critique, anyone?

Neat! You posted ! I don't know if this is constructive or not but I think the way you made the background lighter than the foreground was an affective choice ^__^! It makes the foreground pop more. Her shadow looks good on the rice paper but then it doesn't seem to follow the structure of the wood .. so it makes the wood look more flat. Not to be confused with the floorboard shadow.. which looks fine ^__^. Nice pattern on the kimono
